“Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophecies with his head covered dishonors his head. And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head…If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut
off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head”
1 Corrinthians 11:3-6.
“I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God”
1 Timothy 2:9-10.
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters, and the
believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that
is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Qur’an 33:59
…they (believing women) should not display their
beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily)
appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their
women…or small children who have no sense of the
shame of sex…”
It is obvious and safe to say Jesus(Peace upon him) was sent by God to deliever a message and that, that same God sent prophet Muhammed(S.A.W) to crown it all. The essence of the females covering their hair is very important that God stressed on it, in both the Qur’an and Bible. We should start making the wearing of hijaab a habit and tradition for our little children so it won’t be a new experience that turns to a burden or uncomfortable dress code for them when they come of age.
